Aamir Khan Opens Up on Height Jibes and Emotional Resilience Ahead of Sitaare Zameen Par Release

As Sitaare Zameen Par prepares for its theatrical release on June 20, 2025, Aamir Khan has been actively promoting the film alongside co-star Genelia Deshmukh and the cast. During a heartfelt appearance on the YouTube channel Just Filmy Things, the Bollywood icon candidly addressed longstanding jibes about his height, sharing how he navigated them with humor and wisdom from veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Reflecting on his early career, Aamir recalled feeling overshadowed by taller contemporaries like Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, and Vinod Khanna. “I was very nervous about whether a short actor like myself would be given any importance or not, but as it turned out, it was fine,” he said. Often called “tingu,” Aamir faced public scrutiny but developed a personal philosophy to cope, crediting Javed Akhtar’s advice: “A good sense of humour isn’t only for fun and games. Its real power comes to light when you’re going through tough times. Javed Saheb once told me that the ability to laugh at oneself acts like a shock absorber.”

Aamir’s introspection and grounded nature have long endeared him to fans and peers. His emphasis on self-acceptance and emotional resilience resonates with the themes of Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual successor to his 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. Exploring inclusivity, compassion, and human connection, the film marks Aamir’s return to emotionally driven storytelling, generating significant buzz.

From overcoming industry stereotypes to championing emotional intelligence, Aamir Khan continues to inspire, both through his cinematic choices and his candid off-screen reflections.
